Batteries

I bought batteries yesterday, four 12 volt 50ah each, which should be sufficient. Now all I need now is the chargers and the chain drive then I can start assembling the bike. After I have the drive train in place I will start constructing the body around it. A different bike has come available which I may use instead as it is more complete but that is yet to be seen.

So the bike has been in my house for a few weeks and I have been taking bits and pieces off here and there. Not much I can do until I have the batteries so I know where everything is going to be placed. And also not much until it melts at the scrap yard so i can go and dig around for parts.

I have a motor

So the motor and controller arrived last week so I can begin to figure out how this is all going to fit. I have decided that the street fighter look is going to be the final result. Since my speedometer is missing so I am looking at a a digital speedometer with a magnetic pick up. The lights and every thing else I am going to pick up along the way.

The motor and controller should be in in the next couple days. I am now trying to figure out what I am going to do with the complete lack of body work on my bike. I have a few options thus far. Find the original Ninja body parts, make new parts or a combination and do a Street fighter conversion.

Pulled the bike out

So I have not worked on my bike for time as you can see from the snow build up around it. An Etek motor is on its way along with an Altrax controller. The bike will now be a 48v system as it is far easier to get parts for. I pulled it out of the snow and hope to get it into a warmer work space within the week.

Motor is out

Well it has been some time but i finally did get the motor out of the bike. I have not had time to really get it done until now. I am very happy with the amount of space I have inside of the frame, a 750 engine is not small, i feel very confident that i will be able to fit everything inside. I am going to strip the bike further and then start building a drive system. As for the body panels it looks as if i am going to be making some out of fiber glass but i will not start that process until i know what will fit where.
